Counselling for the Relationships That Shape You - Past, Present, and Everything In Between
You might feel like you are trying to move forward, but something keeps pulling you back.
For some people, it shows up in a relationship that feels tense or distant. Conversations circle the same issues. You start questioning yourself. Am I asking for too much? Am I avoiding something I already know? You may feel caught between staying, leaving, or settling into something that does not feel right.
For others, the relationship is already over. Time has passed, but the impact has not. Grief, regret, or unanswered questions still surface. You tell yourself you should be past this by now, yet parts of you are still holding on.
Sometimes it is not a romantic relationship at all.
Family relationships can be just as complex. You may feel unseen, misunderstood, or like you never quite belonged. You might have tried setting boundaries or stepping back, only to find that guilt and old patterns remain. Distance does not always bring relief, and the past can continue to shape the present.
These patterns often extend into work. Taking on too much. Stepping in to fix things. Carrying responsibility because it feels easier than letting things fall apart. You may tell yourself this is just who you are, while quietly feeling exhausted or resentful that no one notices how much you are holding.
Then there is the relationship you have with yourself.
You may tell yourself you do not need anyone, yet still feel lonely. You keep going, keep pushing, because slowing down feels unsafe. If you stop, you are not sure what might surface.
What matters is this: these experiences are rarely isolated.
Patterns that appear in one area of life often show up in others. Therapy is not about blame or fixing something that is broken. It is about understanding what is happening beneath the surface, so the same cycles do not keep repeating.
With greater awareness comes choice. With safety comes space to breathe. Change tends to follow.
My approach is to meet you exactly where you are and provide a healthy space where you can explore and identify solutions that fit your life and goals.
