Perimenopause is a natural phase that typically begins several years before menopause.
Hormones change and have an impact on our lives.
This period can start as early as your late 30s or 40s and lasts until menopause, which is defined as 12 consecutive months without a menstrual period.
During perimenopause, women may experience a wide range of physical and emotional symptoms due to fluctuating hormone levels. These symptoms can vary greatly.
Many women are unsure if they are in perimenopause, attributing these symptoms to aging or other life stressors. It’s important to recognise these signs early on, as understanding what your body is going through can help you manage these changes more effectively.

Perimenopause
In our one-on-one counselling sessions, we’ll work together to address these challenges and help you navigate this transformative stage with confidence and resilience.
The emotional and mental health changes of perimenopause are often left unspoken, even though they have a significant impact on daily life. Many women feel overwhelmed and isolated by what they are experiencing.
Women are often expected to appear “fine” while managing anxiety, mood changes, and internal shifts that feel unfamiliar and unsettling. In counselling, these experiences are named, explored, and taken seriously.
For many women, perimenopause does not just affect mood or energy. It starts to change how they experience their relationships, their work, and themselves.
Relationships can feel different or harder to tolerate. You might feel less patient, less connected, or suddenly unsure whether you want to stay. Work that once felt manageable may now feel overwhelming. Presenting, managing people, or holding responsibility can trigger self-doubt, anxiety, or fear of being exposed.
Ongoing fatigue, brain fog, and memory lapses can chip away at confidence. You may avoid things you used to handle easily, then feel guilt or shame for pulling back. Feeling invisible, ageing, or disconnected from who you used to be can make this even heavier.
Underneath it all is often a fear of losing control, losing confidence, or losing the life you have built. Women often ask me, "Will it ever change and will it get better?"

Every woman’s journey through perimenopause is unique, and so is the support she needs. Whether you’re feeling lost, overwhelmed, or just need someone to talk to, my 1:1 counselling session are designed to provide the guidance and support you deserve.

These are just some things that could change in your day-to-day life if we work together. What I want you to know that this is about you and for you, so no topic is of limits and know that you matter.
